Paul Kallestad: Played in Fargo bands in the 1970s and early 80s (amazingly, none were .com back then). Moved to Southern Cal in '82.
Played a plethora of styles and eventually landed the gig as Walter Trout's touring and recording Hammond
B3 player. The drawbacks of urban congestion and smog in LA began to outweigh the merits of "endless summer" and the incredible music scene. My brother Jerry had also moved back to Fargo, so the opportunity to gig with my brother compelled me to move back home. The great side benefit... playing with the GrooveTones! The rest, as they say, is (evolving) history.
Equipment: Hammond SK-1 with a Leslie Model 147 or Model 145. Nord Electro 2-73 with EV sx300 powered cab... Still love to play real Hammonds. I occasionally bring out one of my vintage Hammonds, but they seem to get heavier as time moves forward.
